1.   Standards Status Report [M. Zaman/ D. Schultz]

·        See attached standards balloting activity report from Malia Zaman

·        See attached WG report from Dave Schultz.

·        1042 will need to be re-affirmed, since the new PMI version of the PMBOK is still not ready for publication. Paul Diamond will chair this effort.

·        AR: Croll needs to add Paul Diamond and Pekka as WG chairs for MyProject.

·        AR: Croll to contact Dave Zubrow to see if he would be willing to be WG chair for 982.1 (SW Reliability Metrics).  Gullo to contact Kadir Demir about participating in the WG.

·        AR: Singer to inform Pekka Abrahamson that it is not appropriate to include the Agile Manifesto in an IEEE standard.  It could, however, be referenced in the standard, and easily included in a bibliography.  Singer to convey to Abrahamson that we would like to see the proposed schedule accelerated, so that a draft could be balloted in December.

3.  Medical Informatics [ Sloane ]

·        Sloane is putting together a medical informatics conference. Croll is working with him. This is in the very early planning stages.

·        AR: Walrad to send draft of FP -06 to Sloane to provide an overview of the S2ESC collection. We very much need to start informing the medical informatics students and practicing community of the usefulness of our collection.

·        AR:  Croll, Walrad and Sloan, and Cooper to have a telecon 9/22/08 (3:00 pm Eastern) on what sort of educational package could be put together for these folks and to identify the key themes (risk management, etc.)  Croll to contact FDA for their participation. Sloane to contact someone in the wireless communications area.

AR: Gullo to work with Sloane on establishing a Reliability Society liaison for the conference.

4.  S2ESC Web Site Migration

·        Croll pointed us to the beta site at www2.computer.org/portal/web/sehome.  The new portal tools will enable us to spread editing responsibilities amongst the S2ESC, rather than having it all on Henley’s shoulders.

AR: Moore wants a comprehensive solution that includes the needs of TCSE, PPC and S2ESC. Croll will establish a sub-committee to work on this (Schultz, Moore, Henley, Croll). Also need to consider what from SE Online should be carried forward to this.

5. Contributions to SSTC 2009

·        Croll  gave us a heads up about the need to start planning for our contributions to  this conference. Abstracts are due Sept. 19.  See www.sstc-online.org. Croll asked for our ideas for an S2ESC track wrt improving software delivery – on time, high quality, on budget.  Send your brief bstract to Croll by COB next Friday. The conference will be back in Salt Lake City in 2009.
