Management Board
status report is attached.
SESC Guide for Working Groups: All negative ballots have been successfully
resolved. The text supplied by Norm and
Catherine has been incorporated. The
document will be re-circulated because it has changed significantly from the
earlier balloted draft.
SESC Procedure #24, "SESC
Archives": The balloting on this
procedure has been completed. We
received only one negative ballot (from Mark Henley); Dennis and David expect
to be able to reach closure on that very soon.
Indemnification: David sketched out the
background, and described a few of the difficulties the MB has run into in
trying to gather the data into the required Excel format. Carl, Norm, Dennis, Ted, and perhaps one or
two others reported on their experiences.
It was noted that WG chairs, WG members, and MB members are all
volunteers, and that perhaps the paid IEEE-SA staff could shoulder some of the
clerical burden. It was also suggested
that we devise some boilerplate text for a caveat warning, along the lines of
"If you don't send in your contact information, you may be at serious
legal risk because IEEE will not be able to indemnify you." Paul will place this item on the agenda for
Ft.
Lauderdale.
In the meantime, he'll try to download copies of the relevant IEEE-SA
policies and procedures, so that we can have them in front of us when we take
this matter up in Ft. Lauderdale.
